I've been a bad blogger. It has been about 10 Days since I've posted, not because I haven't had anything to  say.. I've been busy on Instagram ( @Fit_Food_Goals ) and then I got derailed and I had a medical issue that I had to put some time and attention into. I made my first YouTube video and posted it Here to explain, and I'm so excited to be back on the horse and start working out again today!

As part of my new clean eating routine I had been drinking Shakeology every morning for breakfast,  because that's when I was told to drink it. I've been drinking my shake around 8:30 before I start work, snack at 11, lunch at 1, and I noticed around 3pm I was getting a craving for sweets that I only get when I'm eating super clean.  I decided to move my Shakeo to my 3pm snack to see if it curbed my cravings and it did exactly that! So now I'm drinking a green smoothie for breakfast - 3-6 ounces of water, banana, cup of baby kale, cup of frozen fruit blended in my quart mason jar and then I add a Tbsp of chia and shake. For those who are using the Beachbody Fix containers - which are used in several workout plans,  this breaks down to 2 Purple, 1 Green, 1 Orange. It's well rounded fruit, greens, water and protein and keeps me full and fueled til lunch. I eat my snack around 11 to keep my metabolism going & I'm not counting the minutes til lunch which is great because that's what used to happen when I was doing WW or other calorie restrictive meal plans. I'm ordering 21 Day Fix this weekend because I've finished 2 rounds of Cize and I'd like to add some variation. I've been doing the  21 Day Fix Sneak Peak on Beachbody on demand and i'm ready to get started. Meal prep is key so it's great to start on a Monday, so you have Sunday to shop and prep for the week. Gonna go start my list so I can shop today amd prep tomorrow. Have a good weekend!

So Long Summer.

You can tell summer is over, the air is crisp into the afternoonand it's dark so much earlier. I'm not having an easy time adjusting to the cooler temps outside and with it being dark earlier I'm having trouble being motivated to work out. I'm still eating clean but the workouts make me feel significantly better, as long as I make sure I get them in. I chose to wake up and take our dog for a walk to get moving instead. It was wasn't as demanding as Cize is for Cardio but on the walk I realized that before I started working on my fitmess my body wouldn't have been able to handle the walk with the ease that I experienced. It was super encouraging even though I'm not exactly running a 5k anytime soon, and realistically maybe never with my lower body problems. I'm very optimistic about how much more athletic I can be once my body has less weight on it and my conditioning is built up. I'm going to try to do a P90X3 workout before bed after I get my sunday meal prep and some laundry  done. #fitfoodgoals

Just Getting Started

Hi! Just set up this blog with the intent to keep myself accountable over my weight loss journey.  Over the last 6+ years I have had plenty of issues and excuses for not being active or eating right - PCOS, Plantar Fasciitis, Bad Knees, Sciatica, Herniated Disc, Lymph Edema and Wheat and Dairy Intolerance and a bad car accident in 2014 just made things worse.

I was super ready to start working on my fitness but I didn't even know where to start. I decided to try Cize and Shakeology - in July because I saw an add on Instagram - and then looked it up on YouTube - I was skeptical but I decided to try it anyway.

I have been doing both for almost 2 months and I feel great. I still have a long way to go, but physically I feel like I have made a ton of progress. Inactivity over the years did terrible things to my body.

With this program I'm eating better, with portion control and whole foods, and getting more dense nutrition than I can ever remember. The best part for me is that I have regained strength and endurance from the workouts that I have lost over the years. This has made a huge impact on how I feel overall.

I have tried just about every diet Atkins, WW, Southbeach, Nutrisystem, and going to the gym, but doing the same repetitive motions on the cardio equipment for any period of time was extremely painful and ultimately just weren't a good fit for me - Treadmills are so boring.

I still have a loooong way to go, but I'm excited to see how I progress over time! This is a tough time of year since everyone is starting to get ready to hibernate. I'm gonna start a Health and fitness motivation group on FB  to help me stay on track and motivated let me know if you are interested in being added!
